(edit) Also his production in goals has gone down per year since the 09-10 season. He scored in 43% of the games that season, then 41%, followed by 37%, and in the lockout he only scored in 23% of the games. He’s signed to be a scorer, not necessarily a point producer. this angels management is a total bust.
Scioscia has yet to find the right spark in his team, Mike Butcher is a terrible pitching coach (I want Bud Black back here), Dipoto doesn’t know how to spend money correctly, and expects that the more we pay a player, the better off he will play. Blanton, Hamilton are prime examples. And then the owner Moreno changes the name to LA, and spends $260 on Pujols for 10 years with a no trade clause. Do you really think he will play until he’s 41? No.
The Angels sacrificed their entire farm league for Pujols, Hamilton, Greinke, Wells, etc etc etc.
Moreno personally told Hunter “we have no money” even though he could have fielded $8million or less this year from us. I mean come on. Hamilton isn’t even trying anymore, and probably will go back to drug abuse because he doesn’t believe in himself. The guy is a good batter when he wants to be. He has no confidence.
It’s almost like they are trying to run this team into the ground. Next season, we will probably sign a pitcher for $15million and watch him blow it too.
Scrap the system and sell the team to someone who knows how to run a baseball club please. This is two years in a row that the Angels will probably sit below .500 with Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo. And the way we are going, Trout will leave for the money because we are nowhere near getting him a ring he surely deserves
